Near Suoi Dau Livestock Farm (Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa), about 20 kilometers from Nha Trang City, is the burial of Dr. Alexandre Yersin, a French doctor, scholar, physician. Most visitors come are interested in learning more about the outstanding scientist and humanists who lived in the early 19th.

Dr. Alexander Yersin was born in Switzerland on September 22, 1863. He is credited with being the first person to detect the plague germ and successfully create a serum to treat the condition. He also discovered the diphtheria toxin and made significant contributions to the colonization of rubber trees and cinnabar into Vietnam to develop the economy. Besides that, he has also founded the Hanoi Medical University and the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang to become world-famous institutions. However, Dr.Yersin has a kind heart and lives a simple life until he passed away.
Along Highway 1, near Suoi Cat commune, there is a sign that states "Doctor Yersin's Tomb." Follow the trail for about 1,000 meters to the tomb. The tomb is simple, lying silently beneath the green arches. Visitors can consult the biographical summary table etched on the stele constructed next to the cemetery in two languages, Vietnamese and French. The tomb was constructed on March 3, 1943. After the Vietnam war, the grave deteriorated over time. Until 1975, the residents of Khanh Hoa renovated his grave to its current state.
Doctor Yersin's grave has been recognized as a national historic site in 1992. The grave has been protected and decorated by the Khanh Hoa government and the locals. The tomb welcomes those who wish to pay their respects and appreciation to a scientist who has dedicated his whole life to helping humans.
